Markham sisters support seniors, frontline workers

Mary Ng, Member of Parliament for Markham–Thornhill, recently met with two local students who are making a difference in our community throughout COVID-19.

Sisters Briana and Athena Zhong launched the “Gifts that Smile” project to ensure that vulnerable people in our community have access to essential items by assembling care packages for seniors and frontline workers.

Filled with essential products like personal protective equipment, soap, shampoo, and up-lifting personalized notes, the 350 care packages have warmed the hearts of people in Markham while providing them with essentials.

Inspired by Briana and Athena’s compassionate leadership, Ng thanked them on their dedication to our Markham community and how they prove that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow – they truly are the leaders of today.
