Did you know Markham had a secret test track? It helped farmers test out new technology and agriculture techniques. Put your brain to the test and explore in the Markham Museum’s Tinker Studio and try out some of the farm equipment. The Secret Test Track Sessions take place Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24.
For the outdoors type, the museum provides the perfect place to spend time with your family while enjoying the Canadian winter. Each two-hour session on Feb. 2 or 23 will include a basic introduction to snowshoeing, group activities, games and free time to explore the 25-acre museum grounds. Snowshoes will be provided. Cost and registration are per person and all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Love is in the air in February. Show your love this Valentine’s Day with matching mugs. One big and one small, these mugs are perfect for sharing hot chocolate with your favourite person. Design, create and decorate your creations on Feb. 9 in the pottery studio. Cost includes all supplies and firing.
Couples, singles and friends are welcome to join the Markham Museum team on Feb. 9 for a pre-dinner afternoon of fun. Instructors will teach you how to make candy heart dishes or you are free to make your own creations.
