Markham Group of Artists Juried Show

During the past few months daily life seemed to come to a standstill, but the isolated homes and studios of artists remained vibrant places where creators turned inward for inspiration.

Now, the Markham Group of Artists (MGA) has asked those artists to open their windows and let the world see how this experience has affected their vision of the world.

MGA is honoured to have well-known artist and teacher Suzanne Metz serve as the juror: “I have looked, seen, pondered and enjoyed each and every work in this new format of ‘virtual art show’. . .  [By] capturing the essence of a subject, or taking that subject and reworking it in an entirely different way, or for those who chose a sophisticated colour palette; all these nuances caught my eye.”

MGA recently announced the following awards: Best in Show: Caroline Fremont; Members Award: Golnaz Khadivi Zand; Juror’s Choice: Suki Zhang. Honorable Mentions include: Ferida Dilmaghani, Gretchen Jeens, Maureen Lowry, Barbara Ridehalgh, and Nedda Riva Zaharelos.

This juried online exhibition runs until September 25 on the group’s website and on social media. Click on this link to view the show—and consider becoming a member.
