You have likely seen the “Markham Gardens 150” lawn signs throughout the city and might be wondering what it’s all about. The project selects 150 front lawn gardens in Markham with the best use of flower, colour, shrub, tree or landscape. The objective is to promote Markham Beautification and at the same time celebrating the Canada 150.
The project “Happy Life Markham Gardens 150” is hosted by Canada-China Realty Professionals Association and Chinese Canadian Photographic Society of Toronto and is sponsored by Happy Life Wealth Management. Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Councillor Alan Ho are the honorary co-chairs.
Nominations closed in early September and the judging panel picked the top 15 gardens in late September. There will be a photo exhibit of the 150 chosen gardens on display at the Markham Civic Centre on October 13.
