Astellas Pharma Canada made the 2019 list of best workplaces for inclusion.
Astellas received the recognition after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work. In addition to being cited for inclusion, Astellas was named in 2018 for the third consecutive year as a best workplace in Canada and also a best workplace for women in Canada.
“We are deeply honoured to be acknowledged by Great Place to Work as a best workplace for inclusion,” said Steve Sabus, Astellas Pharma Canada general manager. “Fostering an inclusive and respectful culture and work environment is a key foundation of our success at Astellas and underscores our approach to delivering value to our people, community, customers and the patients they serve.”
The list is based on direct feedback from employees from among the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work. The data has a 90 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus five per cent. To be eligible, organizations must be Great Place to Work certified in the past year and at least 90 per cent of their employees must agree that they are treated fairly regardless of personal characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, age, language or sexual orientation. The organizations selected are based on employee responses to inclusion-related trust-index statements.
“Our people are truly our most important resource, and we strive to create a work environment for them that’s welcoming, promotes inclusion and celebrates diversity,” said Adele Zita, Astellas human resources director. “Our shared values and beliefs in acceptance, trust and respect are key to driving our performance and are reflected in how we work together each and every day. Being named as a best workplace for inclusion says a lot about how our people feel about being part of Astellas and why we are successful.”
