Markham Bears host free ‘Come Try Ringette’ program

It may already be spring, but it’s also the perfect time to try out a new winter sport.

The Markham Regional Ringette Association will be hosting a free on-ice session for those who are interested in coming out to try the sport.

They will be hosting the program at the Markham Centennial Centre on Sunday, May 26, from 3-5 p.m.

The first hour will be set aside for registration and the chance to gear up. From 4-5 p.m., the new ringette players will get a chance to step out on the ice and try some fun drills and games as they get the opportunity to learn the sport.

Parents are asked to bring skates, a helmet and gloves for their child, but the rest of the equipment will be provided by the organization.

The event is for kids between ages 4-11, and no experience is necessary. There are opportunities and divisions available for non-skaters, as well as fair and good skaters too.

Pre-registration for this event is available through this link.
