Kindred Spirits Orchestra’s 2018 | 2019 concert line-up continues to foster new classical music audiences in the GTA. In addition to performances at Flato Markham Theatre, for a first time, the orchestra will offer concerts and special events at Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.

KSO Music Director Maestro Kristian Alexander has included Bruckner’s Fourth, Shostakovich’s Sixth, and Scriabin’s First symphonies, as well as a world premiere of Symphony No. 9 for soloists, choir and orchestra by the world-renowned Chinese composer Chan Wing-Wah featuring Hong Kong Oratorio Society and Vancouver Oratorio Society. Christina Petrowska-Quilico is back performing a recently discovered piano concerto by Canadian composer André Mathieu. As well, pianist Michael Berkovsky will be featured in Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and cellist Andrew Ascenzo in Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante.

In June 2019, the KSO and Markham Contemporary Music Festival will return to Cornell Recital Hall for a series of concerts presenting masterpieces by Schnittke and Schönberg. The concert season will conclude with a performance at the CBC Glenn Gould Theatre, led by celebrated European Maestro Jiří Petrdlík and a Canada Day celebration at Unionville Millennium Theatre.
