Have a say in Markham’s future

The City of Markham is sharing information about its strategic goals and is inviting members of the community to be part of the conversation about the City’s future.

Markham’s 2020 – 2023 Strategic Plan: Community Engagement Session & Survey will be held Monday, Sept. 23 at the Markham Civic Centre. As part of an open house that runs from 6:30 to 7 p.m., you can speak one-on-one with staff and members of the executive leadership team about current projects and initiatives.

The open house will be followed by a presentation by Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Chief Administrative Officer Andy Taylor. The event officially kicks off the City’s community engagement for Building Markham’s Future Together: 2020 – 2023 Strategic Plan. It focuses on the following four goals: Exceptional Services by Exceptional People; Engaged, Diverse, Thriving and Vibrant City; Safe, Sustainable & Complete Community; and Stewardship of Money & Resources.

Residents, local businesses and community stakeholders can let Markham know what’s important to them by taking the City’s online survey between September 23 at 6:30 p.m. and October 29 at 11:59 p.m. Participants will be entered in a draw for a chance to win prizes.

The open house and presentation will take place in the Great Hall & Council Chamber at Markham Civic Centre at 101 Town Centre Blvd. If you’re unable to attend, you can watch the event live online. Visit markham.ca/strategicplan to learn more.
