Fatal cyclist collision in Markham

York Regional Police investigators are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision involving a cyclist in the City of Markham.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 12, police responded to the area of Elgin Mills Road and Kennedy Road for a report that a cyclist had been struck. The cyclist was travelling
eastbound on Elgin Mills Road, east of Kennedy Road, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling in the same direction.

The cyclist, a 47-year-old Markham man, was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.
