It felt like a rewind back to the ‘70s with 700 business leaders, dignitaries, and community members at a local fundraising event held April 28 at the Hilton.
Canadian radio icon Erin Davis returned to host Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation’s biennial gala — the Disco Ball for an eighth year.
Proceeds from the evening will help kickstart the near $3 million expansion of the Interventional Radiology (IR) program. Commonly known as “surgery without scars”, IR allows doctors to diagnose and treat disease with minimal invasion. The technique allows for shorter hospital stays, faster recovery times, less painful procedures and better overall health outcomes. In 2015, the 25th Anniversary Ball raised over $700,000 for equipment in the hospital’s chemotherapy clinic.
