Rush frontman Geddy Lee headlines a collection of outstanding music talent at this year’s CosmoFest.
The festival, back for a fifth year, is set to take place at the Cosmo Music property, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
One of the highlights of this year’s festival, special guest Lee will be doing a private meet and greet session for attendees who purchase his new book, “Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass” at the festival.
The 408-page hardcover book showcases the bulk of Lee’s personal collection of bass guitars. Attendees will be able to purchase the book online in advance of the festival, and will receive the book upon arriving to the private meet and greet session.
Free-to-see main stage acts include Sloan, Finger Eleven, Chilliwack, and Terra Lightfoot, along with the Cosmo Soul Express Band.
Appearing in the Cosmopolitan Music Hall for performance clinics are Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Simon Phillips (Toto), Omar Hakim (David Bowie, Michael Jackson), Andy Timmons (Danger Danger), Alex Skolnick (Testament), and Andy Wood (Suhr Guitars clinician).
These intimate sessions are ticketed – only $15 per clinic. Artist meet and greets will be happening throughout the day, with more artists and special guest appearances inside the Expo tent.
Though visitors can register on-site, it’s best to register ahead of time. Not only does registering in advance help visitors accelerate through the line-up, but it also enters them into the $10,000 Cosmo Music gift card RSVP draws. Visitors can win one of 156 gift cards totaling to $10,000.
The Expo tent features 150 plus brands with fantastic prizes, swag giveaways, and an opportunity to talk directly to the builders, engineers, product specialists, and artists, as well as test drive new gear. Visitors can enjoy 22 food trucks and a licensed beer area, among many returning favourite attractions.
CosmoFEST starts at 9 a.m., though, it’s best to arrive early to take advantage of the “Door Crasher” deals and an opening line-up gift card giveaway totaling to another $10,000. Retail store shoppers can save up to 50 per cent on top of any great deals they get in store throughout the day. Parking and admission to the event are free.
