The Wonderful World of Circus brings the magic of Christmas to two upcoming shows in Markham.

The Christmas shows feature some of the school’s best students as well as some professional performers. Prepare to see animals such as poodles and birds, magicians, clowns, aerial gymnasts, jugglers and more. Each season there is a different show.

“Christmas shows are our favourite because we have a spirit of magic in the air and we put together our most wonderful acts for them at this time,” Arthur Kantemirov said.

The circus school was founded 21 years ago by Oleg Kantemirov and Tatiana Zoubrilina. Before coming to Canada and opening the school they worked for 20 years in Moscow Circus and the first three productions of Cirque du Soleil “Fascination”, “Saltimblanco” and “Alegria.”

Oleg is an expert in martial arts and acrobatics and has worked in film as an actor and stunt coordinator. Tatiana has performed professionally in several circus disciplines ranging from flying acrobatics to trick-riding.

The school offers professional and recreational level classes in the circus arts, acrobatic skills and gymnastics for children and adults. Former students are currently working in circuses around the world.

Shows run Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at 2600 John St., Unit 115, Markham. The shows are suitable for all ages. Visit for more details.
