Coinciding with the warm spring weather is Bike Month happening across York Region. Bike Month starts on May 29 and continues until June 30 with many rides and events happening across the region. Events include Bike to Work Day and Bike to School week starting on May 29. Bike to School Week event expands on the success of Bike Month and on inspiring initiatives among local schools and community partners. Annual memorial golf tournament honours Dino Raponi

Local family remembers son with 11th annual memorial golf tournament The Raponi family holds its 11th annual memorial golf tournament on June 2 in honour of their son who passed away more than 10 years ago. Dino Raponi died in January of 2007 on his way home from a get-together for a friend in Brooklin. He was driving in his truck when he collided with a hydro pole near Coppins Corners. MP Jane Philpott joins discussion on healthcare innovation

Health Minister Jane Philpott was the special guest speaker at a recent chamber luncheon on the innovations in healthcare. The event was organized by the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce. In her speech, Minister Philpott touched on development in research, specifically with the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg and Canadian Institute for Health Research. These health resources helped create vaccines for Ebola virus which were shipped to West Africa and they continue to work on vaccines for viruses like Zika and others. Local artists gather for Lemonville art show

Nineteen artists will be showing off their best original paintings for their 24th Annual Art Show and Sale at the Lemonville Community Centre. The Lemonville Group of Artists will utilize styles from watercolours, and acrylics while playing with traditional painting mediums.
