60,000 masks donated to Ontario school boards

Local business donated over 60,000 masks to school boards across Ontario.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce, Director General Catherine Y.M. Hsu of the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Toronto, and MPP Logan Kanapathi stopped by the Kuo Hua Trading Company to thank CEO Lisa Chung.

“This is a wonderful display of the Ontario spirit,” Kanapathi said. “This generous donation from Lisa Chung and the Kuo Hua Trading Company is another example of how we have come together as a community in our fight against COVID-19. It’s an honour to have such a dedicated and committed person in the Markham-Thornhill community.”

Kuo Hua started as a small Taiwanese supermarket on the corner of Sheppard and Willowdale in 1995 and now operates several chains of stores serving Markham’s Taiwanese market.
