Two men wanted in armed bank robbery

Two men, one brandishing a handgun, are wanted in a Markham bank robbery.

According to witnesses, the men entered through the front doors of the bank in the area of Main Street Markham North and George Street on Thursday, Jan. 10 shortly after 5 p.m. The suspects yelled at customers to not move and demanded cash from employees, who complied. The suspects fled on foot southbound toward Hwy. 7 and got into a black sedan, which fled the area. There were no physical injuries.

The first suspect is described as black, six feet tall with a thin build, and is 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket, black gloves and a black balaclava covering his face. He was armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as six feet, three inches tall with a thin build and is 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket, black gloves and a black balaclava covering his face.
