Mr. Bond, you’re needed on a crucial mission: to be at Evergreen’s fundraiser, Thursday March 31.
The event – A Night of Bond, it so happens – will begin with martinis (shaken, not stirred, of course) to be followed by a gourmet meal with wine, dancing, casino games (for fun) and, of course, a secret mission.
Enjoy the sounds of the Bond theme songs, as well as some jazz classics, sung by renowned jazz singer June Garber.
The event helps Evergreen accomplish its various goals of offering free seminars, social and emotional support for every age group.
Feel free to bid on an array of silent auction and live auction items, including hockey tickets, and your personal favorite, fine wine packages.
You may also bid on a week getaway to St. Vincent – which includes a hut that looks over the water, at the Young Island Resort (perfect for you and Countess Lisl von Schlaf to relax after the mission’s over).
In addition to bereavement issues, Evergreen also assists those wrestling with life threatening illness, as well as their families, and caregivers – be it at the home or bedside.
For those seeking camaraderie with other seriously ill patients, Evergreen offers weekly meetings in a supportive environment where they can converse, and even share a meal.
The evening “will provide the funds we need to keep these important services available to anyone who needs them in the community,” says Jan Pearce, executive director of Evergreen. Evergreen, a charitable organization, receives about a fifth of its funding from the government.
Mr. Bond – good luck, and remember to enjoy yourself at the event.
