York Regional Police have charged a 28-year-old Vaughan woman in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a teenage male student.

Police began the investigation on Jan. 26, after receiving information about a teacher-student sexual relationship taking place last year between October and December. The accused has been working as an occasional high school supply teacher with the York Catholic District School Board since 2014.

Charged with three counts each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation, the accused will be appearing before Ontario Court of Justice at Newmarket on Mar. 6.
