The crowds gathered at the City’s sesquicentennial celebration of Canada’s landmark birthday for an afternoon and evening of entertainment, sights and delights. Thankfully the rain let up after short drizzle in the afternoon, allowing parents and their tots to take in a live performance by Treehouse favourites, Splash N’ Boots.

As the evening set in, the Mayor and his councillors, Amanda Collucci and Alex Chiu could be seen walking around the fairgrounds, munching on local treats and mingling with the crowd.

The community feel and shared national pride could be felt throughout, with revellers young and old, from various walks of life donning the Canadian flag. After being treated to a medley of live performances by local Canadian artists, the Mayor counted the crowd down to a spectacular fireworks display.

The entire evening was a success, providing a shining example of the great people that make up the community.
