Portraits of Giving, a unique exhibit celebrating York Region leaders who give back to their community, is on its 8th Annual York Region wide tour.

Organized Karen Merk, whose portraits of this year’s 12 outstanding honourees celebrate and inspire the importance of Corporate Citizenship and giving back to our community.

In the spirit of giving back, 100 per cent of ticket sales and part of sponsorship proceeds are being donated to Southlake Regional Health Centre, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Mackenzie Health Foundations. The Portraits of Giving recently announced that $14,325 was raised this year bringing the grand total to over $43,000 raised for local charities. Each of the hospitals will receive cheques for $4,775 and an additional $960 was raised at the Markham reception thanks to Flato Developments. All Markham Stouffville donations will go to the MRI Diagnostics Centre in memory of Donald Cousens along with Don’s 2013 Portraits of Giving portrait generously donated by Shakir Rehmatullah.
