Earth matters at sustainability fair

The City of Markham partnered with Remington Group to present Earth Day, an event for locals to learn about sustainability and reducing our carbon/ecological footprint. The event included live animal presentations, free rides on the recycled Pride of Canada Carousel, test drives of EV’s and many information booths. Seneca Grads Take Flight

‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’ was the famous motto at Seneca College’s Flight Services Pinning Ceremony last week. The energy and enthusiasm in the room was palpable with graduates simultaneously bursting into the song I believe I can fly and shedding as many tears as they did laughs. Sisters bring a touch of the Irish to China

Markham sisters Chloé and Camille Gilbert never expected to visit let alone perform in China but, together with their dance group ‘Celtic Energy’ from the Irish Dance Studio in Newmarket, they did just that. In March 2017, 12 competitive dancers aged between 11 and 18 years old set off to China with teachers Joanne Vanderloo and Yvonne Kelly, accompanying parents and some siblings.
